About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live simply and travel often.

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Dyanna and I am a student in the US. I am studying Environmental Science and Global Development. I am currently in Peru and will be traveling for a few weeks after attending the UN Climate Talks in Lima. I dedicate most of my time to furthering the Climate Justice movement at home. I am a lover of people and places, and would love to share a conversation with you along my travels!

PHILOSOPHY

Love others and love yourself.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't have a couch to offer up at the time, but am excited to host people later in life when I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used couch surfing a bit in the States an in Canada while on a bike tour and a few road trips. CS has brought me to some of the most creative and generous people and communities. My travels would be far less vibrant without the fellow surfers and fantastic hosts that I have met along the way.

Interests

I love adventures, surprises and sunrises, playing and listening to music, snow boarding and a good soccer match. A day outdoors would be ideal and I am a huge coffee fan--drinking it, making it, and sharing it.

Music, Movies & Books

Tolstoy's "The Death of Ivan Illich" and Einstein's "The World as I See it" are a few of my favorite books at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

This past summer, I lived on a bike for two months, traveling through Canada on the Energy East Resistance Ride. We were cycling along the route of the proposed Energy East Pipeline, which would carry tar sands from Alberta to the East Coast, threatening communities, biodiversity, and contributing to climate change. We collected stories along the way of the grassroots organizing building against the pipeline to create a collective narrative of resistance in the region.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach you about the fight for climate justice--the beauty of the movement and the small piece of it where I fit in. I know a bit about climate policy in the states and how this connects to the UN Climate Talks and the lead up to the next global climate treaty to be signed in Paris in 2015.

Russian literature is also a favorite of mine.

I would love to learn about what moves you, what drives you, your hopes, your fears, your dreams. These are the conversations that keep me going.

What I Can Share With Hosts
