About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To avoid the inevitable(?) and depressing creep of maturity and watch from afar as the world descends into utter insanity. And play the banjo...
ABOUT ME
Well, I've been living in Busan, South Korea, for around a year now, teaching English to kiddies. I've enjoyed it very much and I feel as though I will pick up the teaching mantle again down the road. I've thoroughly been bitten by the travelling bug, and I'd like to do all this kind of stuff across zee globe. Couchsurfing seems like a pretty great way to do that and also meet some like-minded people.
PHILOSOPHY
"If you want to be happy; be"- Tolstoy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My place in Busan has been much too small for couchsurfing, unfortunately. There isn't actually space for a couch or futon, and I assume there is probably a rule against sharing a bed with the person you're hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None, as of yet, but looking forward to changing that.
Interests
Reading, music, films, walking, cycling, my friends. All the usual things.
I'd add travel to that list now, I think, but that's pretty standard as well.
- festivals
- walking
- partying
- gardening
- movies
- reading
- traveling
- knitting
- music
- cycling
Music, Movies, and Books
The Beatles, Neutral Milk Hotel, James Blake.
The Princess Bride, Dancer in the Dark, Strozek, Star Wars.
Orwell, Huxley, Steinbeck
That kind of stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
First thing that pops to mind is a beatboxer at the Secret Garden Party music festival doing a cover of You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon. Very amazing... believe me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can knit fairly well- fairly novice, but once you get the basics the only way is up.
Studied film for five years... so if you want to know how to ruin your favourite films, I'm your man.
And I'm pretty good at spurting liberal political rhetoric, and I can make a pretty good loaf of bread.
Maybe my year of teaching English could be of some use, but I'll need to give that some more thought before I work it out.
Countries I’ve Visited
Italy
Countries I’ve Lived In
