About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make some friends, acquire some new art, take pictures with my DSi.

ABOUT ME

SERIOUSLY GUYS, PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR PROFILES. BLANK PROFILES, UNVERIFIED, NO VOUCHING...NO ONE WANTS TO HOST A COMPLETE STRANGER LIKE THAT. WRITE SOMETHING IN EVERY SLOT, UPLOAD PLENTY OF PHOTOS OF YOURSELF, INCLUDE LINKS TO FB/IG/TW, AND JOIN A FEW GROUPS SO YOUR HOST CAN GET AN IDEA THAT YOU'RE NOT JUST A SLACKER LOOKING FOR A FREE RIDE. PROMISE IT'LL GIVE YOU MUCH BETTER ACCEPTANCE RATES!

Simply, I'm just a government lackey who has been fortunate enough to get everything in life through my own two hands. I consider myself self-reliant and independent when it comes to my goals in life and I am resourceful enough to get exactly what I need.

I've recently been able to get my life in great order as I've purchased my own home in the city...something that I probably would not have done without every little piece falling in place for me. However, it has dampened my travel efforts as I've spent more time at home rather than on a plane jetting towards someplace fun.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't proclaim to be rich, avant garde, or even mildly trendy. The truth is that I find being different is about the best you can do to make sure you don't end up being liked for the wrong reasons. Ever since childhood, I don't think I've been known to anyone for being average or a conformist. Perhaps this is why I've always been unsettled by how some people would much rather have me be more mainstream and discreet. What's the fun in that?

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have my place to share. Can I brag about how I'm offering you a bed in a bedroom as opposed to a couch? That might be better for you, because my couch is very uncomfortable. I would definitely like to host people who are looking to travel to Boston for a job interview and need a place to crash. I know it's hard to try and get a job in another state and finding a bed should be the last thing you need to worry about when you're trying to give your best first impression.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I guess I'm been the consummate couchsurfer for all of my life, but I've never used an official website to do so. Although my work in community activism has afforded me with many trips around the country, I find my best experiences traveling has been with the locals that I meet during my two or three days before or after the event/meeting that I am there for.

Interests

My interests are very much not within the mainstream. I like to go out drinking...with strippers performing on stage. I am an avid photographer, but I prefer to do portraits over touristy shots. You will enjoy my penchant for games...be it board games, video games, or just cards...I'm an interactive gamer.

Music, Movies & Books

Books aren't really my thing and I'd be lying if I said magazines count as books. My movie collection might look a bit scary to some as most of them involve zombies, swords, and cyborgs. Music-wise, I prefer mixing my own music, but you'd laugh at how I don't own an iPod.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Seeing lots of naked people in one place...mass nudity is unnerving and overwhelming. When was the last time that's happened to you? Oh...your dream last night?

Teach, Learn, Share

The quirks about me are that I am the absolute repository for irrelevant information (thank you History Channel, Discovery Channel, Travel, Food Network, HGTV), major fan of old school gore/horror films, and non-traditional artist. My home is peppered with my gigantic collection of anime-related goods, video games, and magazines.
