About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To build an interesting life, stretch my legs, keep my head level and unabashed and from it, learn along the way.

ABOUT ME

I'm an average guy with a taste for ethnic and regional foods and a curioisty for most things that have harmonious color, good design, work brilliantly or play nicely. Well-mannered and generally quiet. I don't drink or drug, so I prefer to take up excitement from my sense of surroundings. I like dogs and getting into nature, museums, art shows and probably most a tinkerer by nature. Reuse, recycle, re-purpose.

PHILOSOPHY

Try living life on life's terms; don't be reckless; dying every day so why not live?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

New to couchsurfing, so I haven't yet participated. But really hoping to get tuned in to this experience and was informed about by a lovely and interesting acquaintance that I met while scouting NOLA for a temporary work opportunity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not with CouchSurfing proper but in the spirit, have stayed with friends of friends in NOLA before (they recently moved), Austin SXSW, Atlanta, Stuart FL, San Francisco, etc. More of a "got my toothbrush and pack right here for short periods of time" kind of experience.

Interests

Music, food, culture, reading, good local history tours, bicycling, dog parks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly if it sounds good or a good story, I'm interested.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The one trip to Las Vegas: while pulling into the strip sitting Ms. America Style in the back of a Mustang convertible in 1990, wondered why all the lights were out and did my friend take a wrong turn? Only to find out when we pulled into the hotel, we just drove through during the minute of darkness honoring Sammy Davis, Jr.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to do a lot of things -- in and around the house repairs -- and am always ready to throw in for that helping hand.
