Join Couchsurfing to see Eddy’s full profile. It’s free!
Wow, the whole profile layout has changed since I was last on here.
I was a traveller-student (you know the type) for several years. These days I have a job.
I live with my partner and another couple in a lovely two bedroom house in Newtown. We don't have a spare room and we don't host too many people, but sometimes we just can't say no.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on CS for years and years. Have met, surfed with and hosted a lot of amazing people.
I leave honest references and I hope you will too.
Wow, there aren't even negative references anymore? CS is turning into a joke.
Football, cricket, sailing, cycling, motorcycling, travel, reading and writing, music, politics, new places, new people, just about anything interesting!

Music, Movies, and Books
I had a hard drive with millions of songs, TV shows and movies, it broke. Feel free to share your electronic media with me.
I read a lot, though probably not as much as I should! We'll talk about it when we meet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Veloed in Vietnam. Rickshawed in Rajasthan. Biked in Bali. Hiked in the Himalayas. Sailed in Sydney. Showered in Singapore. Waltzed at Woodford. Ate in Istanbul. Salaamed in Islamabad. Mounted Montenegro. Rented in Richmond. Shivered in Syangboche. Now once again sunning it up in Sydney.
...And by now I can say that I've also seen quite a lot of the bad things the world has to offer. I've had a passport, camera, computer, phone and various other things stolen overseas, I've been molested on a train, I've seen other people get molested and beaten, seen animals being slaughtered and sacrificed, police and officials taking bribes, dishing out beatings, people lying, cheating, stealing and dying.
It's all life, it's all humanity.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can speak, read and write a little bit of Hindi/Urdu so if anyone's interested in that I'd love to meet them! I've racked up up tens of thousands of miles across South and Southeast Asia so I can give you a heap of tips and probably answer a lot of the questions you'll have about how to get around and stay safe. (I can't stop you getting sick, sorry!)
I love Sydney and love showing people about, I used to work as a bike tour guide in the city so know a fair bit about it (though I haven't actually lived here for a long time, so I find I don't know it very well anymore! (update! Now I live in Sydney again!)).
I love talking passionately (and often endlessly) about my life, my country and my crazy family, which can either be a good or a bad thing!
I would love to learn about some new and exciting ways to travel. If you're a wanderer, hitchhiker, camper or biker I'd love to hear your stories. I want a van but don't have a licence; if you can teach me to drive and procure me a licence I will be forever in your debt (update: I now have a licence).
I love watching local football anywhere in the world, if you follow football in your city I will definitely stay with you.
