ABOUT ME
My name is Edward Mjelde and I am attempting to walk over 5,000 miles across America from Delaware to California using the American Discovery Trail. Graduating fresh from college, with a Bachelors in Business, I am on a quest to further challenge my mind and learn about my country and its people. I have dubbed my epic adventure as WalkUSA.

PHILOSOPHY
I've been told that attraction is built off friendly push and pull. We pull in the interest of the people we are attracted to then gently push it away in a never ending cycle. Oddly, its said to be one of the fuels that makes people fall madly in love.
Who knows if it's correct.
However there is this, I have fallen madly in love with the world.
And the thing is my attraction wasn't created by continually pulling in the world's interests and by asking it interview questions under dim fluorescent lights.
No, it spun wildly within me after jumping over gates with "no trespassing" signs, climbing ridiculous heights with little regard for safety, by screaming with wild delight in the middle of raging storms, by walking through "dangerous" neighborhoods with a smile, diving into rivers and lakes naked, and among many other things giving my trust and enjoying the company of people who began as complete strangers...
All while at the end of the day knowing that I caused no real problems and completed what had to get done.
Everyday me and this world are pushing and pulling one another, and I've never felt more in love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently surfing while traveling and joining any CS events I come across :-).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Some of my best experiences meeting people while traveling has been through Couch Surfing. Couch Surfing to me is a community where the general walls that exist when meeting strangers get torn down and nearly instant genuine connections are made. Nothing quite like it!

Music, Movies, and Books
I rarely watch TV, but I love to read books. I am into Non-Fiction and textbooks, in a wide range of topics. I crave to better understand this amazing world.
As far as music, like a little bit of everything. Let's get a groove on!
