About Me

CURRENT MISSION

48 states 48 days

ABOUT ME

I am planning on, in the next month or so, taking a world win trip around the united states, stopping in every state for no more and no less then a day. I am looking to meet interesting people on the trip and will be writing a blog, and if I'm motivated and inspired enough, a book on my adventures. I enjoy having fun and meeting new people and am capable of making lasting friends quickly. My ultimate goal for this trip is not only to experience all the wacky, zany, and beautiful aspects of this country, but also meet the wacky, zany, beautiful and amazing people that are a part of it and hopefully I'll come out of it with a lot of stories and some new friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess my personal philosophy would have to be something like, I can either think everyone is as stupid as i am, or everyone is as smart as i am. Life is always better when people are smart and are around other smart people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This will be my first experience with the project. I am incredibly hopeful and if this trip turns out to be the success i am anticipating it being, i will probably also become a host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First time. Really excited.

Interests

I love traveling (obviously) and meeting new people. I have worked for 4 years as a line cook and while i do not enjoy cooking in the high intensity environment that is a professional kitchen, i love cooking and creating new combination's at my own leisure. I am obsessed with finding new music and that probably one of my favorite things about traveling, every where i go there is something new to listen to. I have been snorkeling once in my life but am hooked on it. I plan to learn to scuba dive some day but that is in the future right now. I enjoy watching sports and I play Racquetball with my dad every weekend. Beyond that i like new things: Things i have not experienced before; People I have not experienced before; all of it makes life more interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a movie buff. I have seen so many ridiculous and amazing movies that I could not possibly do them justice if i tried to list some. I am a fan of every genre from horror to romantic comedies and honestly im not ashamed to admit it.
I like most music, though for some reason, despite the fact that i try, i cannot get into country music. I think their may be some disconnect between me and the message.
I was an English major in college so I do love books. Unlike the other categories however i can list a few books or authors that i love enough to put above others. My favorite book all time is catch 22. I like dark war books and one of my favorite authors is Kurt Vonnegut. Im also a fan of british comedy fantasy. Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaimon, and Douglas Adams are three of the best authors to live. Beyond them i like some fantasy, when done correctly, Mystery novels and the occasional poem by Petrarch or Dante.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did something like this in the British Isles, though i passed on London because i had been there before and its really expensive. Its a truly great way to meet people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little bit about cooking, grilling, sauteing and would be more then happy to share what i know or compare what i know with another food efficianado. I'm conversant in literature and enjoy talking good books. And after this trip, well actually after a few days of this trip i should have a fair bit of knowledge about different parts of the country, and would love to share travel stories.
