About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To move to the Boston area from Asheville, NC!

ABOUT ME

I am cultivated and international, and full of interesting anecdotes, many of them historical and art historical! The system gave me some problems so I was not able to say that I have lived multiple times in England and France (variously as a student and a young professional), and that I grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Right now I'm living in Asheville, North Carolina. I am coming up to Boston to look for shared rental accomodation so that I can move there.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is grueling and desperate without friendly folks to help lift you up in times of need.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

How I participate in what?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None (yet) whatsoever, although many years ago I used to rent out a futon in my charming living room on 105th Street and Central Park West.

Wait a sec: when I was in my very early twenties and trying to find employment in London, I couchsurfed at my dear friend Lorna's flat in Tottenham, North London. Lorna is (sadly) not in my life anymore, but I will never forget the silver sleeping bag I slept in on top of the deep blue velvet couch, surrounded by her impeccably English wooden furniture, drapes and plants. The coal grate glowed and soothed me to sleep.

Interests

Anything related to the Middle Ages or the late nineteenth century; handsome big dogs; botanical gardens; street fairs and festivals. Once I am settled in the Boston area I'll be spending my time looking for a part-time job.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too vast to itemize. Recently I have consumed all of Louis Theroux's BBC documentaries off of YouTube.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the ruined Cathar castles of southwestern France on their craggy mountaintop peaks. Watching my dog (no longer with me, sadly) dig endless trenches on an East Hampton beach.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll trade you French lessons for a comfy couch!

Countries I’ve Visited

Germany, India, Spain
