here and now
The little daughter of a good friend described me as following: "Michel is the guy who allways laugh".
on the fotos you find me not laughing (similar to Buster Keaton) but how I see the world with a smile
besides my scientific work as gologist I do from time to time art installations and performances
when I was unemployed after my 2 postdocs (Liverpool, Vienna) in 2005 I set up a business for geological off-road tours in the central Sahara (South Algeria)
but since (from 2005) I work again as a scientist in the University of Erlangen, I only go on private tours to the Sahara, but unfortunately the current situation in N-Africa make it more or less unimpossible to go again
I would call myself a feminist
I try to live after the main statement of Immanuell Kant "the categorical imperative" - it is not see easy to fullfill this task but it is worth trying it every day again
Por que estou no Couchsurfing?
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately I presently live with two roommates and no living roorm, so can’t offer a couch.
But if you ever want a tour of the
more offbeat aspects of Erlangen/Furth/Nürnberg or the beautiful countryside (Franconcian Swiss),
I’m always thrilled to share, even better over a beer or a Bratwurst! We have the best Bratwurst in Germany
Years ago when I travelled a lot around the world (by backpack) from time to time I was invited by some local people or expats. It was everytime a special experience and especially these stays I kept in mind, even after more than 15-20 years.
in towns: subculture (pubs, music, artshow, exhibitions, performances - underground)
high art: mainly contemporary art
favourite festival: ars electronica (Linz, Austria)
but also: international puppet festival in Erlangen
in general I am a cultural junky:
These days I don't travel to much from city to city; what's exciting about couch-surfing is to get in touch with a city (i.e. favourite places) from the perspective of the people who live there, instead of my own experience just as a tourist.
on the countryside: great to be!!!
walk around - sitting in the fields - sleep outside.
- performing arts
- interior design
- contemporary art
Músicas, Filmes e Livros
Movies: I don't watch films too often, but "blade runner" is probably the best, I think
music: from avantgarde over punk-rock to techno
books: from the last one I was quite intrigued: a biography about Alfred Hilsberg: das Zick-Zack Prinzip “mein leben für den underground” and Hannah Ahrendt: The pluralism of Socrates
Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz
