About Me

Getting in touch with my inner pirate

I'm a person who enjoys talking with people more than anything; I believe strongly that friends and loyal, fierce friendships are what life is all about. I live for travelling (and all it entails) and I am guilty of constantly planning my next adventure(s).

It's always difficult to talk about yourself, but if I must I'd say I am very social, communicative, empathetic, honest to a fault, respectful, polite, incredibly curious and always up for meeting new people and having a good laugh. And above everything else, I like to drink good alcohol, talk about brilliant ideas, and laugh about nonsense until 5 in the morning.

I love being outside and enjoy hiking, cycling, wandering around cities, getting lost in new places, marveling at architecture and the complex layers of history behind the facades.

I have been madly in love with photography for years now. I completely lose track of time when I am editing photos, so much so that I forget to eat or go to sleep. I can spend hours waiting for the perfect lighting conditions to arise to take a photograph. I find photography to be a special way of communicating and it is one of the things I could not live without.

When I’m traveling one of the most important things for me is to explore the national cuisine. I am very passionate about food and there's nothing I would refuse to try as I am incurably curious. I love shopping for exotic food and cooking interesting , delicious meals with friends.

I’m an avid traveler who loves discovering new places through the eyes of locals and loves trying to see the world as others perceive it, that's something no guidebook can ever reveal.

Having drinks or good coffee on a balcony or a rooftop with a pack of cigarettes, surrounded with a great group of people is when I'm the happiest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a guest, I am pretty independent and never ask for more than people are willing to give. I am just trying to have a good time, discover places and connect to people and their interests.

Of course, I'm working dedicatedly on spreading the word about this amazing website.

The people I met through this site truly changed my life.

Some of them have become my closest and dearest friends who enrich my days and make me feel eternally grateful for the existence of this community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Once upon a time I sang in a jazz band so quite obviously, jazz has a special place in my heart. However, my musical taste is incredibly diverse! I've started learning how to play the guitar recently, wish me luck!

When it comes to movies, my favorite genre is History, I love Drama, Animation and Biography as well. To be honest, the only movies I will never watch are horror movies and ''chick flicks'' mainly because I get terribly bored. TV series: Game of Thrones and Vikings are my favorites and the only ones I have watched and enjoyed every single episode.

I'm an insatiable reader and knowledge seeker. I am constantly reading something, online or on paper.
Before embarking on my perilous voyage through science I wanted to study English Language and Literature (I might still harbour ambitions of becoming a writer, haha)

I am a huge fan of stand-up comedy.
I love political satire. Late-night talk and news satire television programs.
