CURRENT MISSION

Creating more me-time as I am a single mother 24/7 and simply need to get out into the world on my own here and there, though I also love to get out any about with my kids.

I also love to 'invite the world into out home' whenever we have beds free and my kids' busy school/activity schedules allow for hosting visitors.

I love meeting people, love living with them and getting to know them. Believe in the gift of giving and sharing. Believe in telling people what you need - often your needs get met - even by total strangers. Love travelling and can't live without it. Love my children to bits and they are the centre of the universe to me in so many ways ...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When hosting visitors it depends - all needs to fit in with the kids' schedule, and we often already have friends or family visiting us. Visitors with children are probably most fun to host right now - then we can even show you fun things to do in our area.

When being a visitor - it depends if I m travelling alone or with my kids. When travelling alone I actually enjoy being shown around briefly by a local - simply because I love meeting people, and by the host showing me his/her favourite spots I also get to know more about the people in the place I visit, and not just look at a place superficially.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted in the past and been a visitor as well. It's been a number of years since I last hosted a genuine couchsurfer or couchsurfed myself - mostly BC (before children) and my eldest is nearly 11 years old.

Interests

Concerts (saw Depeche Mode, Sting, Agnes Obel, Lucky Chops, Hozier last year), Modern Dance (love Nederlands Dans Theater and go to every performance in Eindhoven), Travel, cultural differences, languages, jazz (Beady Belle is al alltime favourite), Tibet, Chinese minorities, Australia (Sydney especially), and lots more

Music, Movies, and Books

Depeche Mode, Sting, Kasalla, Beady Belle, Little Birdy, Hozier; Siddhartha (Hesse), Anna Karenina (Tolstoi), so much more that it would take to long to jut down. French movies such as 'Les bien-aimées', 'Tous les soleils', 'Retour en Bourgogne', Dutch movies like 'Jongens'. Loved 'Lion' this year. Have a soft spot for Chinese Martial Arts movies, love Wong Kar-wai, Zhang Yimou, Ang Lee, Clint Eastwood as director, Pedro Almodovar ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a pilgramage with 11 Tibetans from Western Sichuan in 1994.
