Hey there!

I am Eliora. I'm 21 this year and I am currently in my final year of studying chemistry. I love this subject since secondary school (when I was 15 years old), so I enjoy studying it. But it's really unbelievable how fast time flies and graduation is so close. I initially started doing this course wanting to be a teacher, but over time I had research opportunities in school and that's when I started to be more open to research. (I can share my research with you if you are interested.) At this juncture, I am not sure what I want to do upon graduation. I have considered working or furthering my studies. I would love to hear your life story or some insights!

Apart from studying and doing research, I like to volunteer as it adds fulfilment to my life. This academic year I manage to be part of this programme where I get to learn sailing and windsurfing with kids. Some of the kids can be rowdy and easily distracted but the thing about kids is that they pick up new skills very quickly. Although my role was to help the kids, befriend them and be an older sibling they can look up to, sometimes it seems they are the ones fulfilling that role to me. I was really touched when there was this particular time where I was stuck, the boy of 10 years old sailed to me and taught me what to do.

Unfortunately, with all the time I have, I don't get to do much apart from what I have mentioned. Perhaps, that is why I'm looking forward to my student exchange which is happening in less than a month!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be on student exchange from end Jul to Mid Jan, at Sweden, KTH Royal Institute of Technology! This will be the first time I'm travelling to Europe, so it's a new experience for me. Before school term starts, I'll be travelling with my friends from Singapore to a few countries - Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Amsterdam. After which, I will finally return to Stockholm for orientation. If you do drop by Stockholm, I can bring you around once I am familiar with the place. I'm not sure if I can allow you to couch surf at my hostel as I'll be staying at the shared corridor room. I will update again!

Through this student exchange, apart from getting to travel around Europe, I would love to get to meet new people and know the different cultures! Looking forward to meeting you! :-)
