Hello. I am a 23 year old undergraduate student living, working, and studying in Texas. I am currently studying creative writing and philosophy and am looking to travel this summer before graduation. I love meeting new people, sharing stories, and discovering other cultures. I am Mexican American and speak both English and Spanish as well as a bit of French.

As for motto, I subscribe to the Monty Python view of always looking on the bright side of life.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I'm trying to leave my comfort zone of hotels and meet people with stories and experiences that can enrich my mind. Also I am currently backpacking the U.K. and was told by many that the way to the best experience is by way of couchsurfing. I was never a big risk taker growing up and my parents always told my brothers and I that traveling is unsafe- so i never thought I'd get the opportunity to go anywhere, but I've caught the travel bug and i want to go everywhere and everywhere and try new things!

Intereses

I love music and am open to all genres. I play a bit of piano and guitar. I also love making short films, and listening to podcasts (mainly NPR and Marc Maron's WTF).

Música, películas y libros

I love comedy and irony. Lately I've been watching more stand up comedy than films. My favorite comedians are Louis C.K, Bill Burr, and the gals of Broad City. I love The Office and often find myself going back to it rather than starting a new series. As for movies, I love Stand By Me, Help, and Dogfight (I'm a big River Phoenix fan).
I would like to get into novels as I mainly only read poetry. I love Wilfred Owen, Robert Graves and Siegfried Sassoon. I'm also a big fan of Ginsberg!

For music, I'm a fan of the 60's and 70's. I love The Beatles the Kinks, Bowie, the Velvet Underground. But right now as I'm trying to learn French I've been listening to a lot of Thomas Dutronc, Serge Gainsbourg, and Francoise Hardy.
