CURRENT MISSION

To be healthy, to be happy, to cuddle animals and babies, and to enjoy my time on earth with my husband and my family. (And to run my first 100 mile race, and then some more after that.)

ABOUT ME

I'm a happy person, and a distance runner. My husband, Preston is a hard working entrepreneur. We tend to be focused, social, playful, energetic, worn out, idealistic and cynical all at the same time. We are definitely extroverted, and love being around people and chatting. I have a background in Early Childhood Education and used to be a preschool teacher before I started working as a graphic designer for Preston's wedding photography company. Preston is an aerobatic pilot and owns a few small businesses, consults for other small businesses, and stays very very busy. We both LOVE dogs and kids, but have neither. We LOVE to travel! And we love meeting other travelers! Other tidbits: we are both vegan, non-smokers, non-drinkers, Preston is allergic to cats, and I am allergic to gluten. We keep a clean, pet-free, smoke-free house and have a humungous sectional sofa, a queen air mattress, and a twin size loft bed for guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We used couch surfing a few years ago out in Hawaii. We stayed with someone we met on couchsurfing.com for a week on the Big Island of Hawaii, and ended up going on a 3 day camping excursion with him around the entire island. A few weeks later, he came out to visit us on Kauai, and then on Maui after that. He actually ended up moving to Minnesota and working with us for one of our companies! He is still here now and we remain good friends and business colleagues. :) We stayed with one other person for a couple nights on Kauai as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Spotify Radio has been very good to me lately... I like pretty instrumentals, deep, funky house music, and a little bit of just about everything else. I try to stick with movies made before 2005, unless they are foreign. As for books, I enjoy a good humorous mystery. I can't do the serious ones because they scare me at night.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have swum with a family of wild dolphins in Hawaii, all by myself, totally unexpectedly, and saw them play and flip and dance in the water. It was amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom skills! I have been working as a professional graphic designer and photo editor for 5 years.

My husband Preston is on his way to becoming a certified flight instructor, and has much to teach about aviation. He is also a professional small business consultant and can teach everything from photography to tax strategies, to how to start business from scratch. Do What You LOVE!
