À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Keep your schedule full, but your heart fuller
ABOUT ME
I'm currently teaching English in Germany for a year and am trying to see as much of Germany and Europe as I can before my time here ends in June. I'm quiet, but friendly and get along well with most people. I also tend to go to bed relatively early and am more of a sight-seer than a party-er when I travel, but I'm very willing to make friends along the way :)
PHILOSOPHY
I try my best to be as kind to others as I can, because if you've ever had a bad day, you know how much it means to you to have someone help you out or do something nice.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only couchsurfed once in Hamburg: I wasn't a member of couchsurfing then, but the friend I was traveling with was and she found the person we stayed with and he was so lovely that I thought it might be nice to try more couchsurfing experiences.
Centres d'intérêt
Eating chocolate, reading, walking, German, meeting up with friends, traveling. I used to run a lot, but have unfortunately been recently getting injured a lot so I'm trying to get back into it at some point.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Movies: Gran Torino, Shawshank Redepmtion, Pan's Labyrinth, Elf (yeah, even when it's not Christmas-time), Sleepless in Seattle
Music: I like different things at different times...Right now, living near Munich, my ipod playlist has lots of songs that were played at Oktoberfest :P I really like German music, it makes me so happy.
Books: "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen (no matter how many times I read it, it still makes me giddy :3), "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens (to this day, I'm not sure if it was the book itself that appealed to me, or the perfect timing when I was reading it, because I was on a family vacation to Paris), "Ruhm: Ein Roman in Neun Geschichten" by Daniel Kehlmann (This was seriously one of the coolest books I've ever read, since although all the stories were different, they connected to each other in some way), "Faserland" by Christian Kracht (Faserland is pretty much a German-version of "Catcher in the Rye" in English - disillusioned young person travels through the country/city and reflects on the people around him.)
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Going to a desert for the first time in the United States was pretty mind-blowing. I never realized I had never heard the sound of silence before going, but when I was there, it was completely dead; no bird chirps, no bug clicks...it was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting the US
