ABOUT US
Ella -
I'm a giggly Scot with a big mix of ancestry. I studied geography, so now I'm apparently a geographer - someone who explores the connections between space/place/environment and people. I'm very passionate about environmental and social justice and spend much of my time working towards this fight through campaigns and activism. I love to laugh and dance, share food and stories, go adventuring, and grow organic food! I love cycling, film photography, bookbinding, bee keeping, rock climbing and food!
Levi -
Ella is my best friend and my greatest love. I met her in New Zealand - my motherland. Now - I have left my job as a coffee barista and Bagel chef - and am on a mission to travel the world and learn about practiced sustainability - how to collaborate with nature and create natural abundance. At home I have a big garden. I love to cook for friends. Especially food that I grow and fish that I catch. (I have an ocean kayak that I go fishing off). I love adventuring, hiking, camping, exploring. Dancing laughing. I am a social and environmental activist - and an artist practicing photography and social / environmental sculpture.
PHILOSOPHY
'The most wasted day is one in which you have not laughed'- Charlie Chaplin
'Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it's not' - Dr. Seuss
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
With a smile, food and lots of stories.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CS experience was in Amsterdam whilst I was cycling from Scotland to Paris. I was very lucky and had a lovely host; we laughed lots and he showed me a side of Amsterdam you couldn't see as a tourist, perfect! I also met many impromptu hosts in Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels and in the middle of nowhere in Belguim country side. Each one very different and very lovely!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read, it's like travelling from the comfort of your bed. I love Khaled Hosseini and Haruki Murakami, Captain Corelli's Mandolin. I like books that take my mind away from the here and now for a while. Dark mountain project!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favourite traveling memories is from Israel, I swam in a natural hot water spring surrounded by green plants during a night time thunder storm. There was so much energy, bright stars, lightening, rain, laughter and heat.
Traveled from Scotland to Paris on a bike. Overcoming difficulties on the way, learnt the power and limits of my body. I love to travel by bike as you can hear and smell, feel and interact with your surroundings.
Managed Glasgow University fossil fuel divestment campaign AND WON!! The first university in the whole of Europe to divest! woooohoooo!
Slept under the starts on a beautiful empty beach in New Zealand, white noise of the sea, soul fixing nature, swimming at sun set and sun rise. Complete calm.
Permaculture Design Course!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you traditional Scottish ceilidh dancing! I can help you bind books and keep bees!! I am the queen of limo and thumb wars, which are most important skills. I can speak conversational Spanish, which I can help teach you too. I love to share food and I make very good cakes.
