About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to dance on the edge!! to fly high!! to eat delicious local food!! to live, love & laugh!!

ABOUT ME

I live & love passionately...enthralled with each & every day, excited about what lies ahead, an eternal optimist, feet firmly planted..inspired by beautiful sunsets, the moon, old people, babies, fire, the sea, mountains.

I embarked on my nomadic journey 7 years ago, never expecting it would last this long. I've experienced so much in that time, traveled in Portugal, France and Ireland, connected with amazing people and learnt so much about myself. Although it presented many challenges and tempered me in the fire at times, I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Since my return to my homeland of South Africa in 2011, a beautiful jewel has been added to my crown of life ~ my moon & stars, a grandson who has just turned 3 !

I've fulfilled a very long dream and heart's cry to live in the Cape. Not yet found my forever home and so I reckon some couch surfing will help me discover my Camelot!

I would love to share some space with you ... After all, strangers are just friends we have yet to meet. I love to prepare scrumptious meals, enjoyed over a good red, jam with friends, dance around the fire, play a mean game of backgammon and bridge and listen to your wonderful tales of life!

Laughter is the essence of a good life; I love to explore new things, new places. My dream list grows, even though I have fulfilled many of my desires - still to backpack through Peru & Chile, take a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti migration, cruise Alaska, learn to play the sax. I have embraced a life-long dream to paint and still have the skeletons of 3 books lying around begging for some flesh - hope to get there soon.

My spiritual journey is paramount for in that place one is fulfilled, complete and able to share fully - I grow each day and love the space in which I find myself - a freer, lighter being, unfettered by the trappings of what I call babylon, spiritually conscious and making a difference.

PHILOSOPHY

I am Love, which created me; I am Spirit having a human experience; my fave quotes give you a better idea - "Come to the edge" he said."No! We are afraid" "Come to the edge" They came. He pushed them. They flew. Guillaume Apollinaire 19th Cent French Poet & Art Critic .... also "If you can dream it, you can do it" me, I think :)....and "A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle." - egg donor

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Life as we knew it is changing rapidly....we need to change with it...be flexible...my heart's desire, each day, is to make a REAL difference...either in my own life or in the life of someone else...not just give lip service...in Ghandi's words "we must be the change we want to see" I have a great passion for the hurting, so have empathy and the ability to bring peace and balance, coated with much love. I am great with kids, the elderly, animals and can put my hand to almost anything!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

this is my 1st couch surf...I have backpacked and travelled quite a bit, volunteering on farms and in homes in Europe...off the beaten track is what I prefer.
