Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm only just getting started but it seems like a really cool idea, connecting people and enabling those with smaller budgets to also travel and expand their horizons.

Interests

I greatly enjoy cinema and am an active member of our university's student cinema, I read a lot, I play pen&paper RPGs and I dabble in game design.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Black / Death / Thrash Metal, Punk Rock (I enjoy pounding, foward-driving rhythm; think Alastor / Dismember / Municipal Waste / Ignite)

Movies: I can enjoy a broad range of movies if they don't feel like half-assed compromises (so I loved Ida and Under the Skin recently but also greatly enjoyed The Raid while disliking both La famille Bélier and Machete Kills)

Books: Because my course of studies comes with a heavy reading load I now mostly read books for classes; of those, I recently enjoyed Gulliver's Travels and The God of Small Things quite a bit (then again, reading Night Watch made me feel a real sense of loss at the passing of Sir Pratchett)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bathing in an ice-cold Scotish mountain river at the "Meeting of the Three Waters" with no sign of human life in sight and Highland peaks flanking me on all sides felt pretty damn spectacular.
