About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the most of whatever place I find myself in.

ABOUT ME

My work requires me to travel and live abroad for long stretches, often in parts of the world where there is no couchsurfing community...sometimes there is even questionable electricity and drinking water. I'm rarely in the UK, but I can offer advice on things to see and do around Bristol, Bath or Manchester.
I studied Spanish and Portuguese, but I haven't had much opportunity to practice recently so I'm always keen to refresh and improve.
I'm quite tall which is good for seeing the stage at gigs and for climbing.
I have black curly hair which is a bit like me, unruly, eccentric and can't be tamed but also soft and quite likeable :P
If I lived in another era it would probably be the 80s cos I like the style, or with the Romans they were an intelligent bunch and I'd probably learn quite a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

I like the one about the world resting on the back of a giant tortoise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am just open to anyone that would like to talk to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All good experiences so far...but I want to have more!!

Interests

The more experiences I have the more interested I am. I like photography and art in general, visiting galleries and learning to take pictures. I also like being outdoors exploring by bike, on foot, on the water wherever. I also love urban exploring and visiting abandoned buildings, so if you know of any, let me know!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like books told in the first person, here are some good ones:
Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden
Colour Purple - Alice Walker
Catcher in the Rye - JD Salinger
The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath
Bright Lights Big City - Jay McInerney (Told in the 2nd Person)

Films
I enjoy watching films in general and after I've written this I know I'll think of more to add.

Leon
Anything by Pedro Almodovar or Woody Allen
Casanova with Heath Ledger (It's just a good, old fashioned, comic romp)
Lock Stock
Snatch
Exit Through the Gift Shop (Banksy's film)
Disney..obviously
Le Voyage Dans La Lune (The trip to the moon)by George Mélies - It was made in 1902 and is still great today over 100 years on.

I like all sorts of music. I don't get caught up in if a song is pop or rock or cheese or dance, if I like it that's all. However, in general I don't like heavy metal etc because I don't want my music to shout at me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran with the bulls in Pamplona on my 19th birthday.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I have a qualification in teaching English, so I am more than happy to help out if I can.
Apart from that, my talents are trivial, I can teach you to make a bracelet or an origami volcano.
Learn: I am interested in photography and have started teaching myself to take photos. Any help, advice, recommendations are more than welcome!
I would love to learn to cook a traditional dish from each place I go.
