À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

meet amazing people, get submerged in culture, learn new things and adore every second of every day!

ABOUT ME

I've just finished my masters degree and am attempting to be in the 'real world' right now. It's not fun!
This is the first time in 5 years that I haven't had the next big trip booked but I'm about to book central america for christmas and I can't wait! I'm getting itchy feet! I NEED to travel!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

after experiencing another culture first hand, by living with someone who is part of it, you really understand so much more and come to appreciate it for all its differences and similarities and history etc.

I want to learn. I want to get deep into the cultures of other countries and come back remembering every place I've been as distinctly different from each other, not as a big drunken blur or anything else that a young persons travels may sometimes end up. I want to come home and tell everyone about the marvellous hospitality of people all over the world, and hopefully when my situation is right and I have my own house I can help other people to love my part of the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my first experiences couch surfing weren't through the website, but they happen to be similar ideas! i stayed with a family in dublin for st patricks day and one in germany for 5 days, both of which i'd never met before. the family in dublin were amazing, took my friend and i to experience true irish pubs and music and helped us to have an amazing 'irish' time, not just a tourist time.
in germany, as i had a little more time, i really got to know this family. they were truly amazing and i almost think of them as another family. by the end the mother and i were crying when we said goodbye and i left, promising to return and im hoping to get back there some day.
i went to this far away part of germany, not near any cities i particularly wanted to go to, excited but not expecting too much, and i have been raving about it ever since. absolutely amazing.

Through the website i've couch surfed twice and met some awesome turkish boys, and a lovely couple in france! It seriously makes all the difference when you have someone to show you around and teach you a bit about the place - not to mention just making new friends etc.
