About Me

Mostly I have had great guest, with few exceptions. But since I don't like my time wasted lets gets some of the negitives out of the way:
I don't friend people I haven't met. Please don't ask. It really devalues the site.
Please don't contact me just because I have an extra room.

NO Mardi Gras guest. No Jazz Fest, No New Year. Halloween, etc.... - maybe.

Read my profile too! Please take the above seriously.

In a world of COVID please tell me your status; exposure and vaccinations right up front please,
I am not as quick to accept guest as I use too.
If your request is not heart felt I will respond in kind.

If you drink excessively or plan to stay out past 2AM please don't try to stay with me. It's not tolerated.

IMPORTANT: You should have enough money to take care of yourself. One unfortunate guest had to leave soon after they arrived when it was apparent this was not their expectation. You might also offer to buy me a coffee or a sandwich etc. Don't act entitled, assume you aren't and be humble {that is good advice for life in general}

Be kind and I'll match you 5 fold. It's unfortunate that much of the above has to even be said but the site seems to be evolving and of course as I get older more young people assume I might want to take care of them; I don't.
You can not take a blessing. You can only receive blessings. They are not earned either....

A few mantras:
Live an interesting life
Seek, Be Still, Seek
As Bob Dylan said, "Always be traveling toward somewhere but never arrive.
Call your own bluff
To Change is divine.
Love yourself. I have to say if this isn't something you already do, don't stay with me.

I like younger smart guest. I'm open to gay/queer/ cautiously open to nudes. 420 friendly.
Common conversations include but not limited to personal, cultural, spiritual, history of New Orleans (Jazz, development...), science, nature, I think it's an opportunity to share meaningful thoughts and discuss challenging curiosities and beliefs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for inspiration and humanity.
I realize people are more exciting than places.
I'm interested in spending my time with amazing people in amazing places; growing, evolving even later in life.
Quality individuals

I really enjoy hospitality. Humble people are my favorite....

Paradox has to be top of my list
Control in Chaos and Chaos in Control (you will see this in my house LOL)
Elegant solutions
Truth, Honesty
Tantric sex / Chakras massage
I am most interested in Middle East and Far East Religions, People and current cultures.
Art, Science and the Mystics (all religions are mystical, so obvious yet commonly over looked)

Cooking - Baking
People, especialy Middle East, Far East. Spanish
Learning Spanish
I'd like to find my way back into sailing. I've owned two small boats years ago and loved it. I think it's what's been missing...
Notice: I spent decades in physical science so it's a bit more complicated to me.

  • almost everything

Music, Movies, and Books

Towards the top are: Music: Jazz -Blues,
Anything remotely Latin
Indigenous culture music and dance... it's like looking through a key hole and it's privilege.

Educating Rita. REDS. Another Country, Somewhere In Time
MARVEL Hero movies (and good Si-Fi)
Star Struck (early 1980s punk movie from Australia)

The Fountainhead by Ann Ran
Steppenwolf by Herman Hess
Dancer from the Dance
The Band Played on

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I finally realized I see out of my third eye
Thomas Jefferson said a man is successful if he wins the admiration of those he admires; that said after 25 years every moment has validated me, and I hope my deep love and admiration has done the same for them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Where that moment is?
I try to be aware of others and myself in any moment.
I let my guest tell me....
Being present.
I know a whole lot of stuff (quite a bit is just trivia)
- History of New Orleans
- Physical science: geology, environmental, mathematics beyond calculus.....
- I can give you a Taro reading and discuss the part of mysticism that I know, as best I know
- Nominally a pro massage. Leaned by being a friends "home work" many years ago. Have my own table.

What I Can Share with Hosts

(Also see above)
Potential / Possibilities
I fix things DIY (home, car, small appliances..)
Board games, ping-pong, and a bottle of red wine.
Simple things to express appreciation.
I have had dogs and birds as pets so I can care for them
I've never been a guest yet but hoping to soon.
I hope to communicate before I arrive.
