I would describe myself as passionate, fun, easygoing, friendly, and open-minded. I enjoy getting out into the world and exploring new places, and I am always up for an adventure!

PHILOSOPHY

Wow. Well.

I believe in living in the moment and enjoying everything that life has to offer, because it is a lot. I believe in seizing all opportunities and inserting yourself unabashedly into the mayhem that is this beautiful planet, because you only have one life to live and you best make the most of every second of it. I believe in pursuing your passion and following your dreams, because you are capable of anything. The trick is coming to this realization.

Interests

Backpacking, biking, running, writing, reading, painting, photography, and playing soccer/basketball.
I've also recently discovered that I very much enjoy learning new languages and cultures.
(Oh, and eating. Yes, eating. All things food, really.)

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE Vampire Weekend.
And Queen, The Eagles, The Beach Boys.
My main jig is alternative and classic.
Favorite song: In the Aeroplane over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel (you should look it up, it's fantastic)
Movies: too many to list. I'm a fan of movies that are different: none of this cliche, predictable romcom crap we find swarming our televisions nowadays. Movies that make you think, or that influence you in some way: those are the movies I enjoy the most.
Books...well, I am an English major. So reading is definitely a common and favorite pasttime for me. I have a lot of opinions on literature: ask me about it if you so please. =)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm currently studying abroad in Florence, and let me tell you it is absolutely incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning in general! About anything and everything--things I know a fair amount about and things I have never even heard of before.
As far as what I can contribute on the teaching front: I know a lot about quads and goats and fruit orchards and literature and people (such is the delightful randomness of my life), among other things. =)
