About Me

So, I am a 30 something young mother of two awesome boys and a wife to a handsome man. The boys are almost 10 and 8. We live in a great neighborhood on the island of Montreal, QC. Yes it may be cliche, we are married with kids but I promise we aren't your regular hitched couple!

We have a small shih-tzu dog dames sushi, she is also very social!

I am the proud owner-operator of an online bakery and catering company. It keeps me just busy enough so that I still have time to travel, which truly is my first love, (besides the rest of the boys of course!

We are excited to be a member of the CS community and look forward to meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Honestly, I've just been schooled on this concept a few months back. My first reaction was PURE GENIUS! Now when funds are tough we can bring culture to our home for us and our kids to partake in and not feel sorry that we do not have the means to be out there globetrotting.

My family and I really look forward to meeting new people, sharing our home and our city with them. We love this town and truly look forward to sharing it with as many people as we can!

It's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that so many people in the world are opening up their homes to strangers, this is just what the world needs.

Interests

Travel, Travel Travel &We love music and food, we are all foodies in this house. Good food and even better wine is definitely our motto! We enjoy discovering new coffee houses, book nooks and new resto pubs. We also enjoy really just immersing ourselves in our city, week-end tourists as we say.

We also love to camp, we camp allot in the spring and summer. There are some incredible camping spots just a short drive from the city. We also love to hike, bike and swim. Speaking for myself here as the boys not so much but I really like shopping to!

Music, Movies, and Books

So the kiddos are into Elton John and the Beatles at the moment. For Kevin and I, we love music, all types. He leans more towards soft rock and country and pop. I love jazz, blues, hard rock and soul.

Movies well, the men are into sci-fi, action movies. We actually really enjoy going to the movies, I prefer more drama's and mystery.

Books, again the boys read anything to do with Sports, they love their sports, I am a cook book addict and travel nut as well the new age / self help :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Given birth, TWICE!
There are quite a few more to share, but let's pop open a bottle of wine before we get all sentimental!

Teach, Learn, Share

To teach my children, acceptance, trust, kindness and humility. I also want to open their eyes to worlds of possibilities that entail new and vibrant cultures, foods, music etc...

In sharing our home we hope that you will learn some of our core values: Treat others as you wish to be treated, embrace life as it truly is a gift that we must not waste.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Our home is located 10 Minutes from downtown Montreal. We are steps away from a train station and across the street from bus stops that will take you to the nearest Metro (subway)Station. The are is called NDG/Montreal-Ouest, it is very charming, major banks on the street, corner stores, french patisserie and fruit markets etc.

We love to show off our city, so if you need to be pointed in the right direction during your stay, it will be our pleasure to help you navigate your new terrain.

Our living room is the IT spot, we have a sofa and four air mattresses. It's a very large living room and we are sure that if you don't mind sleeping on air mattresses, there is a ton of space.

We can host for max 3 nights, from Thursday to Saturdays. Kevin works nights so Friday's, you have to be up and out to start your day by 9 am latest, Fridays and Saturdays you can chill! We are in bed by 11 pm Thursday and 1 am Friday and Saturdays. Sundays we ask that you be on your way by noon, unless your flight is at night, we won't kick you out!

If you can live with this, BE OUR GUESTS!
I love to cook, so bring an appetite and let us know if you plan on dining with us so we can be ready to break bread with you.
