ABOUT ME

I'm a 22 year-old Scottish-blooded Australian, with an aversion to Vegemite and a lot of love for themed dress-up parties. I really, genuinely love life. Probably use the word 'amazing' a little too much, along with 'no worries' (I'm sure it's just the Australian in me, but I'd prefer to think that my life is playing out like Disney film).

I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and opinions, and getting the chance to experience something new whenever the opportunity arises. I'm pretty easy going, and don't mind 'going with the flow' - I find those moments are often the most memorable.

I'm a Psychology student, and have a year left of my undergrad degree. After having a very cliched mid-life/quarter-life crisis a few months ago, I decided to take a year off and actually do some of the amazing things I've always spoke of doing. Which brings me here, to my first real adventurous trip around the world. I'm currently travelling overland from London to Glasgow. My next stop after Glasgow is Nepal, where I'll spend a few months before heading off to South East Asia.

I get kicks out of good conversation, good music, good food, good people, and every other good thing this world has to offer. I'm also a real nature fiend. I love the 'great outdoors', and getting out there amongst it.

There's too many brilliant films, bands, and books in the world for me to list just a few.

I'll watch anything that isn't a thriller/horror - I startle easily.

I love music, especially live music. I was not blessed with any musical talent. My sister inherited the musical gene, so as the tone deaf sibling I'm in complete awe of people who are musically inclined.

I love curling up to a good book. Again, it's hard to list every book that I've loved. I enjoy reading books that shock me, make me think, leave me in a state of amazement, or are affecting. Choosing which books to pack (or more specifically, which books not to pack) was one of the most difficult decisions I had to make before going abroad. My literary companions for the next while are: Call of the Wild - Jack London // Confessions of an English Opium Addict - Thomas De Quincey // The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao - Junot Diaz

For me, some of the most amazing moments come from the simplest things. Midnight ocean swims under cloudless skies. Watching the sun rise over the sea. Being in the Scottish highlands, and visiting a huge Loch that was so perfectly still, it looked like a mirror image of the sky. Being in the Scottish highlands in general.

I'm a terrible cook, can't play any instruments, and don't know any language beyond English. But what I lack in things to teach, I'd like to think I make up for in enthusiasm, smiles, and openness to new experiences.

I love learning about different cultures, places I've never been, and things I haven't done. It'd be an amazing (although, not expected) bonus if I could learn to improve my poor cooking skills, play an instrument, or learn a language along the way.
