About Me

Hello everyone !
I'm a Franco/English journalist/musician (and a fan of slashes apparently) living in Paris. I love meeting new people, from different countries, cities, living in different landscapes, speaking different languages, doing different jobs... Ok basically I'm very curious about people. For that matter, I love travelling, particularly because I've been living in Paris for a few years now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love meeting new people; because I love seeing a new place through the eyes of someone who knows that place very well; because it means I can see and do things I could never have seen and done if I had been on my own as a tourist; because when I travel on my own, I love the feeling of arriving in a place and being greeted by people from that place...

Interests

That's a hard question... ! My interests are wide, but I guess the most important ones are music, dancing, reading, talking and being active i.e. moving around, doing sports, walking, swimming - whatever there is to do in the place I'm in. Oh, and also, being in nature - I live in Paris, a city with very few parks, which means I am left to stare at the sky and clouds to get a feeling of nature, and we can all agree that's a bit sad.

Music, Movies, and Books

Again, a veeery easy question.
Ok, in terms of music, my tastes are very eclectic, but I like to think they are united by good quality :) In complete disorder: Gillian Welch, Avishai Cohen, Brad Mehldau, Little Dragon, SBTRKT, Christine and the Queens, Sam Cooke, Duke Ellington and John Coltrane on that one album, Bon Iver and then brazilian music, and music I love to dance on - deep house, dubstep.... it's too hard !
I love going to the movies but I don't go that often - I generally tend to favour going to a concert or reading. So in terms of books: Michael Ondaatje, Tolstoy, Alexandre Dumas, Ian McEwan, Nicolas Bouvier, Jorge Semprun, Albert Camus, Michel Tournier, Doris Lessing, Junot Diaz... The list is long !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh well that's very subjective... and I tend to not really use this perspective to think of myself. Hmm, people tend to be a bit surprised when I tell them about my 5 week trip in the tibetan regions of China, almost ten years ago now, and all the adventures that happened on the way. For some people, going onstage, like I have often done for musical projects, is also something they find they could never do and hence amazing maybe ?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach singing, languages, guitar playing, writing... Right now, I would love to learn the basse and sufficient knowledge to edit my own radio pieces !
