ABOUT ME

Hello hello! I'm Emma, a 19-year-old English traveller, I'm currently volunteering my way around Spain with the programme HelpX but every now and again like to take a break from hard work and enjoy a few days of freedom! I'm looking for couches to crash on for a couple of nights at a time as I visit cities I'm not working in, go to festivals, etc. I'm new to travelling but I recently spent three months in Honduras, Central America, volunteering. I'm flexible and easygoing and absolutely love living in new cultures and meeting new people (as much as I'm sure everybody says that)!

PHILOSOPHY

I have a lot of different philosophies on life, I believe that memories are so much more valuable than any amount of money or possessions and that sponteneity and risktaking are a must if you ever want to experience anything. For me, out of all of the paths my life could take, the most important part of my future is the places I´ll visit and the people I´ll meet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I´ve only stayed with one host (in Granada, Spain) so I´m a relative novice to surfing, which is why I don´t have very many reviews. I think that Couchsurfing is a really great way to meet local people and discover the best places to go in a city though, so I´d really love to expand my Couchsurfing experience!

Interests

I'm always open to trying new things, and love to spend time doing anything from partying to reading! I'm most passionate about travelling and I'm always finding new hobbies.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite types of films are ones which make me think, and my absolute favourite film is Waking Life. I also love world cinema, Oldboy and Y Tu Mama Tambien are two of the best films I´ve seen, cinema is a huge passion of mine - as is music! I don´t have a favourite music genre - I love everything from jazz and soul to chart music! I don´t have time to read as much as I´d like but I´m currently reading Anna Karenina, I like the classics.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn about new music, films, books, places... and in return I can give you a few pointers about my favourite music, films, books and places! I think that there´s always something that you can learn from a person, and always something you can teach. Most of all I think that even if you don´t feel as though you´ve got much to teach, just meeting an interesting person can be a learning experience!
