About Me

enjoy each day, even if the first half of it really sucks!

I'm always doing less than I want to! I'd love to be traveling, learning, working, exploring, challenging, riding bike, listening to music, having conversation all the time...but it's just not humanly possible.

In Mali (and probably a hundred other countries), when you meet someone you know and trust, you introduce them as your brother or sister, as in, "This is Mamadou. He's my brother, but not really my brother. I'm his father and he is my son." I think of my friends as brothers and sisters, and I want to be friends with the world!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

This is a great place to meet open-minded people, who are full of energy and stories and willing to try new things. Where else can you find a database of such people, with pictures and stories and everything???

I've surfed, hosted, gone to meet-ups, donated money, encouraged others to join, uhh, spent hours pawning over trips I wish someday to make.

Hosted and surfed in Germany, Frankfurt and Hamburg. Most of my good friends during my stay in Hamburg were in the CS community, and they are amazing people. DEFINITELY SURF THERE if you can, or just find one of their parties. In Minneapolis I went to CS meet-ups and made a bunch of good friends. Not many opps to host there; seems no one came through! Now in NYC, everyone wants to surf here, and I'd love to host you all! But, as you will find out, the apartments are closets at best, and along with the CS community there are friends and family galore that want a free place to crash, so it can be tough to host. Still, I've hosted maybe a dozen travelers here in NYC; all have been great. Now I'm in BK, and if that's where you want to be hit me up and maybe we can meet up.
