"Did you have a good life before you died? Enough to base a movie on?"
I'm sincere about myself and have nothing to hide from my experiences, because they turned me into what I am now, so I enjoy talking about myself and about my experiences. I like to be around people, although I don't always know how to start a conversation with a stranger. I like to contemplate the depth and existential importance of things. But I've been told I'm never boring, I always hold a surprise.
You have to try everything twice, because you don't quite get it at the first time. And enjoy the moment, because it goes by very fast, people say goodbye and things change.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm willing to host people in Berlin, but please no impersonal last-minute requests.
I only surfed couches of friends and cheap hostels, and hosted only friends. Never had an unknown person in my house (except friends of friends).
I'm a Historian, so I like History (duh!), museums, ancient Greek sculpture, paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries (I love surrealism and impressionism). I love balkan beats parties and I tend to dance, sing and clap my hands after a few drinks. My favorite hobby is to learn languages, and I'm trying to learn some Polish right now with my Tandam partner. I love cooking for guests, especially the recipes I learned from my mother.
Music, Movies, and Books
As for films, I like Almodovar, Tarantino and Kubrick. Please don't ask me about literature, I've always prefered linguistics. I used to listen to heavy metal as a teenager, but ended up listening to female singers-songwriters, e.g. Fiona Apple, Rachael Yamagata, Elysian Fields, Aimee Mann, Portishead, Mazzy Star etc. I also like classical music, especially Beethoven and Chopin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swiss alps and Brazilian beaches. I've been to a favela once.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you can't cook at all, I could help you. I'm a historian and I would like to learn things about the History of your country, but my true love is linguistics. I've worked as an English and German teacher in Brazil, I love learning and teaching languages, so I'd be glad to help you with that. Sometimes I ask myself wtf I'm doing with History. But anyway, I could show you Berlin from a historic point of view.
