CURRENT MISSION

I've decided not to be a grown up and find a career so I'm working in the summers and travelling in the winters!

ABOUT ME

Well, I grew up in a small town in Canada, lived in Vancouver for a few years, and I'm just not ready to get a grown up job yet so I'm leaving my bachelor's degree on the shelf in favour of travelling and working when I have to. I love reading (my bachelor's is in World Literature), writing, hiking, biking, swimming, eating, drinking tea, drinking coffee, drinking anything really, and meeting great people! I spent this past winter traveling down the Western Coast of the States, spending most of my time in California.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm trying to let go of the pressure I place on myself and ignore the pressures of society. Everyone is in a rush to grow up but my dad figures that the secret to life is staying young at heart. I think he's right so I'm trying to slow down, appreciate the moment, and do what makes me happy instead of what I "think" I should do. Tea helps.

I love love love horror movies, thrillers, and dramas. I don't think I like action movies but anytime I'm convinced to watch one I enjoy it. Currently loving Grand Budapest Hotel and Love and Other Drugs.

There's not much music that I don't like. I love Manchester Orchestra, The Antlers, Bob Dylan, and I never outgrew my Doors phase.

As a World Literature major I have a million favourite books by a wide range of authors. The Russians are always good like Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina" and I love some Magic Realism from the likes of Marquez and Anosh Irani. Societal windows such as Farrah's "From a Crooked Rib" and Alice Munro's short stories fascinate me. And of course I can't forget about my love for nearly every poet ever. My favourites include Yeats, Blake, Ginsberg, and the poetry of Jim Morrison.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One time my friend and I found a small river in the woods with two beautiful small waterfalls in a row that you could slide down with gorgeous pools inbetween to swim in. It was so beautiful and refreshing and we've gone back to look for it many times and have never been able to relocate it. It's a magical place.
