CURRENT MISSION

it's importrant to realize that home is where you make it. with that said, my mission is to make new homes for myself and others. this is how we'll spread ideas and change and foster a sense of community and positive growth.

ABOUT ME

i believe strongly in the idea that we should all be making things. i make photographs and films to spread ideas about sillyness and fun and being kids, and letting go, and pretty things. i hope that through the emotional release created through my work that people will find something that feels nice to them. my apartment is a place that fosters art and music. i am open to hosting a house show and will go crazy making posters to promote it. my band or other local bands i am friends with will play with you. i love to cook vegan food and have dinner with other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

ithaca is a great place with a great sense of community. there's a great local scene, an awesome farmers market, a growing music scene (please help me making bigger), and some cool anarchists that are kicking ass. there are tons of artists and filmmakers and people who create things, and couch surfing is a great way to show people how we can do things like art and living without (a lot of) money or the help of the institutionalized world. it's also a great way to show others how ithaca does it, how people here will be friendly no matter what and how all of our 8 or 9 local cafes are a million times better than the starbucks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have not had any couchsurfing experience yet but i really look forward to getting some.

Interests

i'm interested in cooking and farming and making things on your own and setting up shows and taking pictures of things not because i need to remember them but because i want to spread the ideas in them.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: i like my friends film, and i also like iranian and soviet anarchist cinema as well as the french new wave and a lot of chinese films and also experimental documentaries.

music: once again, i like my friends music a lot. there is a great folk-punk/DIY network out there that i'm totally into fostering and persuing in different ways. i also like k records a lot and paul simon.
