About Me

Hi there! I'm Eric, and I'm currently living in D.C.. I research why people get cancer when they're exposed to radiation. I haven't found the answer yet, to put it mildly.

When I'm not in lab I love to travel. I've lived in three countries and traveled to several more. I also love to cook and am writing a cook book for other students. I used to race bicycles but now I only ride to get from place to place. I love hearing other peoples' stories and I'm always happy to talk bikes, food, beer, whiskey, wine, travel, or anything else.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and Couchsurfing has been a great way to do that. I enjoy traveling, y'all enjoy traveling, so it's easy to have a conversation.

Interests

Food, travel, learning about people and places, cycling, running, beer, photography, science, cheesy jokes...the list goes on. I'm rarely bored.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: can get pretty hipster. I'm constantly looking for new songs, usually some light electronic or jazz accompanies my studying. I used to have a fairly big record collection with everything from Count Bassie to Ratatat to The Black Keys.

Movies: Any Marvel movie. I've seen them all at least twice and they turn me into a giant giddy child. Also mind thrillers - The Usual Suspects is a favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've flown around the world two different times (both ~26,000 miles to the East). I lost 10 pounds doing it the first time (thanks, malaria pills).

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to learn to make Italian or Mexican food? I got you. Can probably converse in those languages but would love to learn any and all others. I'm a decent local tour guide as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An appreciation for a good story, a good meal, a sizable air mattress, and a passion for travel.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cambodia, Chile, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, United Kingdom, United States
