About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To help those who may otherwise not have a voice!

ABOUT ME

I am in my Senior year, finishing a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Ariozna State University. (Online) My concentrations are Sociology and Women and Gender Studies! I am a Northern California native, born and raised! (Livermore/Valley Springs) I have lived In Phoenix, AZ,(2004 to 2011) moved back to the Bay Area to work/take care of my father, (2011 to 2014) and now I currently live in Olympia, Washington.

I am easy going, very open to new experiences, and I love to travel, both nationally and internationally! I love good music of all genres, I love food, especially a good Thai or Japanese meal, though I eat just about anything! I am friendly, I do believe in upholding human rights and dignity, and as such have been active in my community for many years, working in various human rights causes. I do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes, but I do not mind if others do so responsibly! I do actively support LGBT rights advocacy, I am a member of the community! I am Transgender (Male to Female) So, you must be an LGBT friendly house! I am also a valid Medical Cannabis patient! (formerly in California and Arizona, Currently in Washington State) If you have any other questions, just ask! I am also a Vegan, but, I do not mind if you eat meat or dairy etc. around me! I do use a manual wheelchair, I am very ambulatory and active regardless! A house that is one story is preferred, however, I can manage other situations, provided we discuss it in advance, and then make arrangements! I am very flexible with how I adapt to living arrangements!

PHILOSOPHY

If you fail, move on, if you succeed, move on, but always with love! To be a great leader you must first be a humble servant, this to me means that, you must live to the best of your abilities, and know that what you do doesn't matter as deeply as why you do it! Live your life in such a way to make a positive impact in the lives around you, help those who may not be able to help themselves, be a voice for the voiceless, love intensively, and forgive when needed, even when it is yourself! Laugh often, be vulnerable, be honest, we are all human beings, and we should be treated as such, with love, dignity, respect, and compassion! We are all in the struggle, we are all on this journey of life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this community, but have many friends who are seasoned "Couch surfers" on here! I look forward to giving this an earnest use, to learn, teach, and grow stronger as a fellow human being!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the couchsurfer world, but I have had some friends use it, and they had positive results, so I figured I would give it a try! Why not? While I have been on here for a long time now, I still have little experience, I am hoping to change this!

Interests

I love to read, write poetry, and blog! I thoroughly enjoy listening to music, watching documentaries, my favourite topics of conversation range from existentialism, western philosophy, human sexuality, drug reform policy, psychology, social justice issues, etc. I love a good romantic comedy, and comedy films, especially older short films, Laurel and Hardy, Jackie Gleason, Stooges, Chaplin, etc. I do love going to concerts, everything from Jazz, to funk, to R&B, Hip Hop to Punk, Ska, Reggae, and everything else! I used to be an avid skateboarder, so I still enjoy everything related to that! I like to also be outdoors as much as possible. Indoor Rock climbing was a sport I was into for many years, and would like to get back into it! I do love food, so if you do as well, that's a plus!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books or writings by: Viktor E Frankl, Kahlil Gibran, Thich Nhat Hanh, Jack Kerouac, Don Miguel Ruiz, Emerson, Thoreau, Zinn, etc. Some of my favourite books are: The Anatomy of Peace: Resolving The Heart of Conflict, (The Arbinger Institute) The Four Agreements, The Fifth Agreement, The Mastery of love, The Prophet, The Art of Power, Man's Search For Meaning, The Road, Walden and other writings, etc.

I absolutely love the original Star Wars films, and anything related! I do like a great documentary, something cerebral, something empathetic, philosophical, and psychological, something to make me think, feel, and enlighten my consciousness! (Existential/Metaphysical) I love all types of music, as I mentioned earlier! Some of my favourite bands are: Radiohead, Primus, Led Zeppelin, Operation Ivy, Rancid, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Modeski, Martin, & Wood, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Indigo Girls, REM, Bob Marley, A Tribe Called Quest, Tabla Beat Science, The Pharcyde, Hieroglyphics... Etc. Honestly, there are so many artists I love! I have over 3,000 albums in my music collection, spanning all types of music! So, basically, if you love music, I know we will have a fantastic time getting to know each other!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
