About Me

ABOUT ME

He can cook up a storm out of nothing! Yes, I'm a certified Chef and worked in San Francisco for about 10 years.
Quiet, easy going, laid back liberal.

Former wildland firefighter, emergency services worker, urban search & rescue instructor.

Interests

I really enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life. We're all unique individuals and making human connections is something I am passionate about (even though I'm typing this on a laptop. The irony is not lost on me.)

I am always learning and reading 4-5 books at any given time. My business partner and I started our own, self-funded, small business in the renewable energy world.

For fun? I'm into snowboarding, rock climbing, camping, hiking, reading, amateur (ham) radio and, of course, good food with good company!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being stuck on the side of a mountain in whiteout conditions while snowboarding. At first, I hunkered down and prepared to wait it out. Then thunder started rumbling. I could see the flashes of light through the heavy snow. Then a sense of calm passed through me as I realised I was experiencing one of the rarest events in meteorology - thundersnow. Basically, a thunderstorm with snow instead of rain.

Most recently, watching my business partner experience East Coast things like whip-poor-wills while camping. He'd never heard them before and watching him experience the magic of that event was great to witness. It's a little thing, but there's a lot of wonder out there. You just have to be open to it.
