Hi there. I never quite know what to write into these little bios. I'm a not-quite 30-year-old who will soon finally be done with post-secondary for at least a little while. During the last ten years I have had neither the opportunity nor means to travel, yet experiencing new places, cultures, and languages is something I adore and would very much like to pursue. I have a plethora of hobbies from learning guitar, various languages, and fine art skills; to reading, working with my dog, and horse-riding. I love food and art, and while I do have a little social anxiety, I love getting to know people and learning where they've come from.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I haven't quite finished my program (one semester to go!), my disposable income is a little tight. A friend referred me to couchsurfing and I am quite enthralled by the idea. Of course it's an opportunity to save a little money, but the potential to develop a connection with the hosts/guests - one that you could carry forward and reciprocate/have reciprocated - is wonderful. It really offers a more authentic experience of a culture, and to have the opportunity to give/receive such hospitality is really special, I think.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's incredibly difficult to name any sort of favourites as I have rather diverse tastes.
I'm particularly fond of country, trance, dubstep, classical, and instrumental. But some of my favourite writers/singers include Lindsey Stirling, Pentatonix, OneRepublic, 21Pilots, DJ MInister, etc. It really depends on my mood or what activity the music is to be accompanying.
This one is even more difficult that music to pin down. I love almost everything, though I'll admit I tend to engross myself into television/Netflix series more than movies. Comedy, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, anime, you name it. Some of my favourites are Luther, Sherlock Holmes, The Wire, Merlin, Downton Abbey, Lord of the Rings, Beauty and the Beast (new), Spirit, Shigatsu wa kimi no Uso, Shokugeki no Soma
Why must we be asked for favourites, truly? At least in this aspect, I'm a little more holed into a particular genre. Fantasy, by far, catches and holds my attention more readily. Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire, Beautiful Joe, the Drizzt saga, to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made it through nursing school. Well, not quite. I still have one semester left, but it has definitely been the most challenging, heart-wrenching, mentally taxing (literally and figuratively), and despairing experience I have yet to endure.
