About Me

to experience as much of life and the world as i possibly can

short, crazy hair, loves coffee and cameras too much, recently heartbroken so i'm traveling to help reconnect to myself and hopefully to some cool people!! But really, heartbreak is a bitch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't hosted in years because of lack of space, but I was a frequent host when I lived in Philadelphia with a few of my friends. I'm on couchsurfing now to really explore the places I'm visiting by connecting to the locals. I'm not interested in sleeping in a hotel, I'd rather meet new friends and discover all the best spots in the places they live.

bike rides, coffee, cameras, exploring, getting lost, being active and playful, art and cinema, getting drunk and rowdy in fun ways, making up raps, writing (currently working on this very involved fantasy/young adult series),

Music, Movies, and Books

(my return key on my computer is broken so making lists is difficult) MOVIES: La Jetee, Wings of Desire, The Fall, The Fountain, Empire Strikes Back, The Two Towers, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford BOOKS: Anything by Tolkien, Maniac Magee, The Windup Bird Chronicle, The Unbearable Lightness of Being MUSIC: How to Dress Well, Banks, Fleetwood Mac, Drake, Chelsea Wolfe, I kind of hate lists like this, because I can never remember everything when I want to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In college I traveled to Thailand and spent a week filming a documentary on this refugee camp on the Burmese-Thai border. It was one of the most gratifying experiences I've ever, ever had. When we were leaving, one of our hosts had saved enough money to buy a trip to leave the camp, and we stopped along the road for some lunch. He looked across the river into his home country, longingly, and said "this is the first time I've looked at home in five years." It was touching and heartbreaking and a true teaching moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you anything you want to know about coffee- i'm lucky enough to be paid to do it at home in New York. I will also have a camera so we can get goofy and take some photos together. I also LOVE food and drinking, and can be very adventurous and fun in that regard. I'm an open book for new experiences and opportunities, and want to see and explore everything new that I possibly can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My patient and understanding mind, a depth of knowledge of all things Tolkien, Game of Thrones and Star Wars. How to cook a classic American breakfast and the world's best Italian meatballs. How to make a perfect cup of coffee.
