About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to skip down the street in every major city in the world

ABOUT ME

I'm a nomad at heart with a practical side that keeps me grounded. I enjoy the chaotic movement and anonymity of large cities and the quiet rhythm of the sea. I love to travel alone because it's one of the rare times that I am actually outside my comfort zone and it's a thrill. I also really enjoy meeting people as a single traveler, sometimes more than the actual place I'm visiting.

I've traveled all over the states, Canada, various places in Europe, East Africa (pretty extensively) and China.

PHILOSOPHY

Try anything once, if it was worth doing, it's probably worth doing twice, but live life in moderation, too much of anything is never a good idea. And watch out for karma, you know what they say...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this and am planning a trip in a month, but once I am back I'm looking forward to meeting fellow couch surfers, showing them the best (little known) things about Brooklyn and Manhattan and perhaps investing in a blow up mattress for overnights.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never "formally" couch surfed (in as much as this site seems pretty formal!) but I have crashed on friends couches/floors/cars/beaches many a time. I'm a fan of the impromptu sleepover :)

Interests

Wow. Everything. Is that an acceptable answer?

  • writing
  • boating
  • traveling
  • cars
  • socializing
  • investing
  • fishing
  • swimming
  • law
  • beaches

Music, Movies, and Books

Too much to list. I'm an avid reader, a semi-disinterested movie watcher, and a lover of an eclectic mix of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Winning a swimming contest in the Indian Ocean which required dodging crazy invisible jellyfish. And then pulling a fresh Tuna from a fishing boat and cutting it open for the best Tuna tartar I have ever or will ever eat in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a knitter, swimmer, climber, amateur photographer, reader and independent bookstore lover, professional eater, writer, free event aficionado and also know a few things about the law.
