About Me
Some people like to dance others like to walk their dog, I like to learn and question some things often taken for granted. I have a name and two parents much like most but I try to actively look past national and cultural assumptions I might have taken up to understand and at times integrate into a host culture. I travel ... I travel more than most and to the extent that I am from no place in particular. People may ask where I am from to be greeted with a smile and at times a shrug (I honestly do not know). My vague sense of identity engenders in me freedom to idealise but also a profound need for personal connection, and frank dialogue.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have never couch surfed although I like the idea of sharing something simpatico with strangers and cohabiting. I recently wwoofed in Devon (UK) and found that would be strangers would otherwise walk past each other where there is a world to be seen in the lives of others. I like to think of it as an act of empathy and sharing. In any case I find it odd in certain respects that a person would offer their couch to person they do not know without there being a clear and defined exchange... and so I want to identify what motivates the host in particular.
