I spent about 8 years of my life socially phobic and agoraphobic. My mission is to get the heck out into the world and discover just how amazing it can be if you open yourself up to people.

I like to write short stories, and bits and pieces of longer ones even though I can't spell or use proper grammar. I believe the content of what one is saying outweighs the importance of the packaging (To an extent).
I'm a vocalist, I made $30 an hour Busking in Vancouver so I guess I'm pretty good.
I can play guitar about as well as a blind man with three fingers (which isn't to say I'm terrible but I could use some work) I play keyboards even worse. I used to play violin and flute.
I love swimming and volleyball but have neither swam nor played in years.
I used to consider myself a goth and yes I am slightly ashamed. I'm incredibly loyal. . I used to be politically active (leftwing) I've been to demos and marches, now I find myself with more right wing ideas and I don't even know who the prime minister is. I don't read the newspaper. I don't own a TV. I consider myself straight. I love to bake things from scratch I used to love the rain until I moved to Vancouver.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an experience junkie, my philosophy is to get as much out of this little blip on the radar that will be my life as I can without hurting anyone in the process.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been a backpacker since 1994 and while I have spent the majority of my travels in hostels, cheap rooms or right out in the open air there have been a few occasions I have stayed on a couch. I find the best experiences occur when you make sure not to overstay your welcome and show your gratitude for the space in little ways. I'm definitely interested in getting together a couch for other surfers when I settle down again.

I have a dirty little secret - Horror books. I know they are 99% trash but I can't get enough of them. I've probably read every single Stephen king book there is. Other than that I adore fantasy and sci fi (Xanth, baby!) I always carry around a copy of kafka's complete works and I'd die inside if I couldn't read a new persons biography every few weeks.

I'm weird about movies 99% of them I can only ever watch once or risk tears of boredom. Probably about 40% of the time I get really anxious during the last 1/4 of any movie because it's usually when a movie switches from plot to action and I lose interest. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy action flicks but when there's no plot left..meh.

Music: I have very eclectic tastes but mainly I love EBM, synthpop, and 80's. This is the staple of my music diet - I call it "Gay Music".. I love it *swoon* However... sometimes I secretly enjoy pop (Christina agulagjstdndhwhatever, and stuff in that vein) and -some- old R&B. Recently I've really gotten into Psychobilly too, Go Tiger Army! hrm what else, Radio head, sneaker pimps, Random bits of instrumental, VAST, Cat Power, I don't know where to put those. love technoish dancy stuffs, Old Rap, Noise and beepy stuff, love love love ebm, everything on soul train!

I stood at the top of a giant rock/mountainish thing looking out across the atlantic ocean in the middle of the night. the water was as black as coal and the warm sweet wind blew all around me. I felt as though I were at the edge of the world.

I would like to learn a few words in whatever languages you speak that I don't already know. I also have a habit of asking people to write down their five favourite bands and then I run off and acquire complete discographys. I like to teach people how to cook, I like to teach children how to read and every one ought to know the proper way to hold a camera.
