In my experience, there is no better way to get to know a new country and its spirit than through communication with people who actually live in this country.
Thus you can bring new ideas, different cultures & life styles into your life - this helds hopefully true the other way round as well.
Additionally I'm also eager to meet other travelers on the path to share stories and experiences and exchange points of views :)
