After my boyfriend, Alexis and I left home in October 2015 and road-tripped from east to west Canada, to see our own country, then down the west coast USA, we are currently living out of a van and travelling/working around Australia. The experience of selling everything back home in order to wake up in a different place almost every day and living with limited possessions has been priceless!
I, Sarah, am a licensed massage therapist as well as a studio photographer. I'm not rich, but I love what I do, and that matters to me more than making the big bucks. I hate putting all my eggs in one basket and love trying new experiences therefore I am always on the lookout for an opportunity.
I believe in art therapy and the importance that art has in our lives. Art comes in many forms, such as creativity and design, but there is one art that some struggle to master: the art of loving oneself!
Alexis is a construction painter who enjoys photography as much as I do. We enjoy being outdoors, meeting new, interesting people and living on the road.
We both hold Bachelor's degrees, I in Communication Studies and he in Public Administration. We sold everything back home in order to travel, starting with Australia, then onto Asia. We never have any idea what our next adventure will be.
Our favourite motto (considering we never know what our next adventure will be): Go with the flow. And so far, the flow has brought us to some beautiful places and put some wonderful people and experiences on our path. It has also challenged our inner selves. It's always about self-discovery.
Sarah's personal mottos:
He who chooses his own path need no map.
Travelling is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started CS in Peru, then in India, and then when I moved into my own place in 2012 I could not wait to be a hostess. I continued surfing in the US and myself have hosted a few people who have captivated me with their travel stories.
Oh how CS opens doors to great friendships and new travels! I continue being flabergasted every time a new acquaintance touches my soul in their own way.
The colour ORANGE!!! Everything in my life is orange.
Travelling, road trips (short or long), wilderness camping, massage therapy, wellness and alternative medecine, Shishah, photography, foreign films, music, wine, ethnic foods, meeting new individuals. I am a big believer of karma and energy and I enjoy meeting people who send out good vibes.
Because when you stop and look around, life is pretty amazing...
