Single parent of three kids who are late teens and are in various stages of finishing high school and leaving home. So I'm used to lots of young people in my life, but am preparing for a lot of change coming up. I have immigrant parents but was born and raised in southern California. Lived, worked, and traveled overseas several years. Trying to learn some languages. I run and try to stay active.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Over the next few years, I expect my kids to be leaving home for new adventures, and so I'm looking for what I myself will be doing next. I expect it to involve travel, and I like meeting people. I like trying to feel at home in places; hotels feel impersonal.

I'd like to get better at German (pretty decent already) and French and Spanish (struggling). As with music, these are things I'd like to share but depends on how good you expect me to be.

I know stuff about physics, math, computer programming, the Bible.

I run. I used to play tons of volleyball, but now have to guard my shoulders.
