About Me

Hey! My name is Eva and I'm from Madrid, Spain. I'm currently working in NYC at a PR agency which works mostly with wine and food-related clients. Here I can learn a little bit more about my passion for events and gastronomy each day. NYC can be chaotic for some people but I love the opportunity to have different things to do every day (I also enjoy a good getaway outside the city during the weekends).
I'm a sociable and open-minded person that loves to travel and meet new people. My first experience in the United States was when I did a summer program with a Host Family in California. They were Hawaiian and since then I learned how important it is to appreciate different cultures and to be passionate to try new things and learn from different people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was a teenager I participated in different host family immersion programs in the USA and I loved the experience of getting to know a different country and culture from the inside of living there and getting to live their routines (plus meeting lovely people!)
I believe this is a great opportunity to travel the world and get to know people from all over while sharing the experience of teaching each other different things and discovering new knowledge.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Move to NYC when I knew no one in the city just to pursue my career and get to live a different cultural experience (something that I completely don't regret)

- I was selected to participate in the CIEE Civic Leadership Summit in DC where I learned about international awareness, civic and social entrepreneurship. Through interactive workshops, participants from all over the world shared our perspectives to try to come up with feasible ideas to improve the world from our communities.

Teach, Learn, Share

Have you ever been interested in learning a few things in Spanish? Did you study it during high school but never used it again? I can help with that :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share the love I have for the country I am from, Spain, especially about our gastronomy. I would be happy to cook or share some recipes with me host!!
Also, I've been lucky to participate in different programs including people from all over the world so I would be happy to keep meeting new people and share different ideas and to keep learning from others.
