I read books, think about the politics of constitutional law, and mark essays. I like food and drink of almost any variety (but not really cucumbers) and impassioned debate (e.g. arguing about more or less abstract concepts). Coffee and music are also good.

Interests

I like to think of myself as a halfway decent cook, can wax philosophic about(or debate) politics for hours, have a good working knowledge of half-exuberant, half-dejected British and Canadian authors, and enjoy a classic action film every now and again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books (read "authors"): Mark Twain, George Orwell, Timothy Findley, Robertson Davies, Jeannette Winterson, Neal Stephenson, Matthew Kneale, Dave Eggers, JRR Tolkien, Graham Greene, Ian Rankin, Raymond Chandler, others.

Movies: many come to mind, but I must admit a strange passion related to British war films (think Ice Cold in Alex). I think it has something to do with the influence Elwy Yost had on my impressionable young mind.

Shows: the wire, battlestar galactica, deadliest catch.

Music: most of it. particularly if it's of the rock and or roll and or fusion variety.
