About Me

Can be partly described as Into the Wild maybe mixed with Les Miserables by Lelouch and some Wall Street component.

I've been travelling for seven years, including four years in Egypt, five months on a sailing boat in the Pacific ocean, one year and a half in Estonia. I've been more specifically on the roads for the past year in various countries of Europe, hitch-hiking or walking, sleeping outside even in winter and without a sleeping bag, at people's places, at farms', in mountains, etc.

I have founded as an engineer and entrepreneur an innovative company of solar energy and green buildings in Egypt that powers pumps for finding water, I was in charge of innovation, operations, supply, construction, I like the idea of starting something big with structures that will change life for many people; at the same time I've always found myself very far from the corporate mentality and I like listening to my body and doing small-scale projects that are in full agreement with myself. I have worked in investments long time ago before leaving that world with a lot of rage. This rage has healed and now I can see beauty even behind aggressive behaviors of some people whose job destroys nature and other people. This has given me much peace about what drives behaviors of people.

If some children arrive in my life I hope I can unschool them or place them in alternative schools, to open them to their own creativity and to help them answer the main question "who are you?".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have hosted numerous people in Cairo and Estonia, sometimes for 2 months, not through Couchsurfing though, typically not asking them any question about what brought them to the flat, it was one of the best experiences of my life, cause I could spend time with very varied people. And I have had the pleasure of being hosted in several countries.

Currently, primitive lifestyle, permaculture, Arab world, psychology

Writing - Wrote a book for myself and my possible future grand-children

Drawing - Would love to take time to learn more

Acting - I LOVE it - I have acted in some some theatres in Paris as an amateur, and for movies in Egypt with Adel Imam and Sherif Mounir (small roles though, at night after work :)). I just feel like a child in these atmospheres

Learning by myself a bit of guitar. Hopefully when I settle down again I can honor a piano or keyboard

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the Wild
The people of the abyss, Jack London
The call of the wild, Jack London
Les Miserables, Victor Hugo
Jared Diamond
Tawfiq el Hakim
The World according to Garp
Castaway on the Moon

The list goes on. The best was not to read/watch movies for around a year, it cleaned myself and then I started to have what seemed to be my "own" ideas bubbling up

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Four years in Egypt ... Egypt is awesome. Beyond that, even
