### Not in Toulouse in March/April 2018 ###

Hey there! I'm a PhD student in tropical ecology, currently based in Toulouse, France, and occasionally on field trips in the rain forests of Amazonia - if you're ever there, you'll find me just behind the big tree. I'm the one sharing a delicious cup of Assam tea with a jaguar, yeah, exactly, right there, 18th century porcellain.

Before that I've been doing literature, philosophy and physics. For the most part of my life I've been living in Germany, but I've also spent some time living in France (Paris and Toulouse, obviously), California (Berkeley) and the Seychelles (on a very small and quite remote island).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new on Couchsurfing, so the main idea is to try it out. I've already had a lot of friends and some of their friends staying at my home, and in return, I've always liked the idea of visiting people, especially if that involves a good conversation, food and whatever adventure the day throws at you (except for huge branches of trees falling down around you, that is entirely unacceptable).

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: Anything between "A pidgeon sat on a branch reflecting on existence" and "Die hard".

Books: Take a bit of Martin Amis, some Juli Zeh and Proust, mix throroughly, round it off with Gabriel Garcia Marquez or Virgina Woolf. This goes down well with a vintage Stifter oder Zweig (for the fearful), a few spoonfuls of late Joyce (for the strange) or a bottle of pure Hemingway (for the brave). To be consumed in prosaic times and in poetic doses. Best before Friday.
