About Me

Hi,

I am mom who tries to travel with my daughter, and sometimes my mother. Because my mother has limited transportation and means, I try to arrange for accommodations for her as well.

Our family as a whole is family oriented, love getting to know new people, and respect our environments wherever we are.

When at home, we are perpetually on the go between my daughter's extra-curricular activities with baton, ballet, running club, yoga, and now adding gymnastics. Yes, A LOAD!!!, but that's how we roll :-). It keeps us on our toes and quite exhausted.

When traveling and staying with hosts, we appreciate the little things and acts of kindness and thoughtfulness. Cleanliness and privacy (since we are female) are more important than size. We love animals as we have 2 dogs (and kind of adopted our neighbor's dog who is at our place practically everyday).

While not health food extremists, we do appreciate organic and farm fresh fruits and vegetables wherever possible. We love to support local farmers and growers. We like to read but when traveling, appreciate the calm and quiet when we're ready to rest our weary heads on our comfy pillows, whenever possible.

We love those who can appreciate the balance between being chatty and friendly and giving your guests space to relax and retire to themselves.

We've never done any couch surfing. We have done some Air BnB traveling that netted some fun and lovely experiences.

We love life and look to the brighter side of it wherever we are and go.

Look forward to meeting you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking to reserve some couchsurfing time for my 9 year old daughter and myself. Also, I'm looking to do the same for my mother, who is in her mid sixties who has a wealth of knowledge but now no longer has the means to travel and do the things she was once able to do during my youth.

Because my mother is now getting on in years with some restriction in her health, I want to be able to provide a means of travel that can expand her quality of life with the time she has left. She provided a gift that keeps on giving in my world view that it is my duty, responsibility, and desire to do the same for her with what I have, no matter how limited that may be.

I believe that travel and international experiences are important in shaping a more realistic and humane world view. Because of my travel with my mother when I was younger, I firmly believe that it imprints a beautiful and global love on hearts and minds of young children and drives their love of travel and getting to know people of every walk of life. This is equally true of adult. I've met too many Americans with limited world view and too ignorant perspectives because they've never taken or been given the opportunity to travel outside of the US, or even their own state. I think that with universal sharing, you make life long friends, build international bonds, and get to partake in travel that isn't unduly restricted by budget.

Travel and receiving world enlightenment shouldn't be limited to those with leisure spending. It's not the 5-star hotel that makes the experience and education, it's the experience and interaction with people that determines your understanding and overall impression of the world.

Even with my limited resources, I want to share this gift with my daughter and my mother.
