ABOUT ME

Born and grew up in Russia. Went to school in United States. Work there for a University and also have my own film studio. Love nature because it is still and beautiful. Like a good book and a drink every once in a while. Wait, I think I'm starting to quote Monty Python.

PHILOSOPHY

I like freedom. Other than that, I don't have much of a personal philosophy, because I have eyes, ears, a nose... arms and legs... a functional brain... that kind of stuff.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I daresay I'm pretty good at that. Successfully couchsurfed in North America, Europe and Asia. Also, there is this guy who couchsurfed at my place for 7 months. We remodeled the kitchen to be his bedroom and he lived there between the fridge and the stove -- with his laptop, books, and pot plants.

Music, Movies, and Books

There's too many. Among them - Umberto Eco, Pelevin, Borges. Music-wise I like pretty much all genres, from French hip-hop to trance to Bach. Movies -- "Big Lebovski", "Casablanca"... Fassbinder... Takeshi Kitano... Jarmusch... anything by Kusturica... Really, this is going to be a very long list, so I'm just going to cut it off now with Tarantino.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen "Gone with the Wind" in Chinese, "The Incredibles" in Spanish, "Lord of the Rings" in Thai, and "Dr. Strangelove" in Russian.
