Sobre mí

Ever since I've been a kid, I've been travelling with my family. Now that I have a family of my own, we take every opportunity to travel, see new places (not cities as such but more of nature and the "real" world). Every person and place has much to offer and we've had some great experiences meeting people from across the world while we travel, volunteer, and backpack across countries and continents. My son is home-schooled which means that he learns from every person he connects with. This has more meaning for us than getting a piece of paper from a school or college saying that he's now qualified. We travel simply with our backpacks, tents, and sleeping mat, finding a new home wherever we go, making friends and helping any way we can. We believe in exchanging ideas, experiences, and pitching in as we make our way, rather than exchanging money.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

We love to travel to new places and meet people, share cultures, learn all kinds of new things, discuss philosophy and spirituality, and give our son a true world education. We travel on a budget, staying at hostels and camping wherever we can. Staying with people gives us an opportunity to gain new perspectives.

Intereses

Sustainable living is something that's interested us for a while. We're looking forward to having our own off-grid home someday and minimizing our footprint on this earth. Permaculture is also high on our list of things to learn. We are trying to live more holistically and we love to learn new things in any of these areas from people that have already ventured down these paths.

Música, películas y libros

This has evolved over time so much that it's hard to peg things down. My personal favorite author has been Michael Crichton, but I also love the classics. Movies, I'd have to say that lately we really only watch thought provoking movies rather than things that simply entertain. My music choices lately have been more mellow, although sometimes when I need that extra burst of energy, I go back to my dance/techno playlist. :)

Algo increíble que he hecho

Voluntarily given up my home and now travel from place to place with my husband and son. The world is our home.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

We're always open and we firmly believe that teaching, learning, and sharing all go hand in hand.
