Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet new people, hang out and see new things, and to experience life to the fullest.
ABOUT ME
Laid back, with many interests. Was going to be a painter, or architect, but instead studied engineering. I currently live in a small town near Baltimore, Maryland. Although I take life seriously, I have a wild streak, which ssome might consider "loose moral standards".
PHILOSOPHY
People should live life to the fullest, and not dwell on the little things. I believe that being a good human being, one who is good to other people and animals, and who can enjoy our accomplishments without destroying the planet is a good philosophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
CS'ing is about bringing people together. It would be awesome to host speakers from throughout the world; although at the moment my place is undergoing renovations.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had many CS-like experiences throughout my life; from the most basic, like when I slept with my friends at a beach in New Jersey, to some really nice ski houses that we were allowed to stay. And when I sold books door to door one summer, my friends and me stayed in this guys house free of charge all summer long. He was a very pleasant person, and all he required was that we contribut by buying groceries and helping out with the lawn.
Interests
I own 2 collector cars, one which I partially restored. The other I'll have professionally restored. In the winter months I snowboard either locally, or I go out west, or sometimes to Europe. Other than that, I spend a lot of time at the local Barnes and Noble/Starbucks with friends, or just catching up on reading. For the past 2 years I have been taking German at the local Community college. It's great learning the grammar, and it's fun to be in a class with mostly young people, but it would be better if I could live in Germany so that I could learn the everyday language. Love music, but my choice depends on the mood I'm in: if I'm low, then classical music lifts my mood. If I'm feeling good, then alternative music fits the bill. If I'm in a party mode, then Techno, or hip-hop gets me to dancing. Besides the above, I love art, and museums. Could tour cities just to look at the people, the architecture, and to study the culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm a speed junky, so speeding down the Autobahn at 240km/hour (140mph) was enough to put a smile on my face.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've had an abiding interest in String Theory and the multi-verse, but I must admit that I don't do the maths, just the philosophical part. If anyone is interested in discussing this, or on a more mundane level, the re-building of automotive engines, then I'm up for the challenge. I would love to learn more about art, philosophy, and classical European history.
