ABOUT ME

I'm hilarious.

Actually, I asked my roommate for help on this section and what he came up with was "sarcastic". Not a big fan of describing oneself as such, so I edited. I'm a quiet person with a loud personality, I'm easily excited and love to be engaged with my environment.

I also have wanderlust. I don't like to make schedules- I prefer to establish a destination and find out what I'm doing as the day unfolds. Walking around aimlessly is its own reward.

I haven't really traveled since I was a young teen, so I'm planning on backpacking after I graduate next year. I thought I'd start filling in my couchsurfing karma bar (and making friends from all over the world) by hosting until then.

PHILOSOPHY

Do unto others, more or less. I'm a feminist anarchist atheist vegan, so my aim in life is basically to do right by disempowered folks.

We've hosted a handful of people from across the globe and have not murdered a single one of them! I can also act as a guide around SF, Oakland and Berkeley for those who'd like one.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot of books... I guess the subjects that tend to catch my interest are politics (well, *my* kind of politics), dystopian/apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic/utopian fiction, Kafka and post-war British writing.

Podcasts are something I spend a lot of time listening to, since I'm a big comedy fan. Citizen Radio is a political comedy show that I listen to every weekday. In addition to that, a few of my top feeds are Harmontown, Smartest Man in the World, Indoor Kids, Girl on Guy and Throwing Shade.

My favorite band is ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, but they're not really representative of my musical tastes. I most enjoy emo-ish music and well-written pop. Pop songs about really depressing subjects are like candy to my ears.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a snake eat its own tail and watched as the world splintered into a thousand threads; all the possibilities of what is, what is not and what can never be.

That's not true, but I'm having trouble remembering anything at the moment.

I once went two weeks with only 12hrs of sleep.
